Well, there is a hack to have any color, you want (yes, even black).

First of all, let’s open developers console. I hope, you are using Chrome browser, because in my example I am going to use Chrome. So, developers console is opened by pressing F12, you should get something like this:

Developers console
Developers console

Secondly, you should press tab Network and there press tab XHR:

Next step, you should change color in the color dialog menu. Now look back to your developer console, find request with the name “?source=thread_settings&dpr=1” and click on it. You should get something like this:

In the “Headers” tab, scroll down till you see heading “Form data”. Near this heading there is a button “view source”. Press it and copy source somewhere (for ex. into Notepad):

Choose color, what you want to use in your dialog from here https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp and copy hex-value without hash (#) sign:

Lets go back to the code, that we had copied previously. In the beginning you should find “%23” (go Jordan =) ). After “%23” you should change next six characters to your, chosen previously, color:

Next step, you should insert your code to the next javascript code snippet, just replace inscription <insert your code here> inside the quotation marks:

var data = "<insert your code here>",
 xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();

xhr.open('POST', 'https://www.facebook.com/messaging/save_thread_color/?source=thread_settings&dpr=1');
xhr.setRequestHeader('Content-Type', 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded');
xhr.onload = function() {
 console.log(xhr.status);
};
xhr.send(data);

You should get something like this:

Copy code snippet, which you get after your code insertion and paste it into  Console tab in your Developers Console in the Chrome browser:

Now press enter, and if you did everything right, your chat window color should change to the chosen color, like mine:

Your Messenger char color also changed, even on your phone app:
